More than you wanted to know on the living arrangements of Jet Jaguar
LIVING ARRANGEMENT?
Flatting with two others: Amanda, she who I'm going out with (*skillfully avoids saying "partner" or "girlfriend"*); and Tarn, an old friend of mine. And Sam, Amanda's cat. Who is choice.
WHAT BOOK ARE YOU READING NOW?
'How the Dead Live' by Will Self. His usual bleak satire, expanded from a short story from 'Quantity Theory of Insanity'. Basically, it follows an old woman's life after death in suburban London. Frequently disgusting, has made me laugh plenty so far. It's a lot easier to read than the last book I plugged through, David Mamet's 'The Old Religion'.
WHAT'S ON YOUR MOUSE PAD?
I don't have one.
FAVOURITE BOARD GAME?
Probably Risk, as of a whole three or four days ago. Speed scrabble's pretty legendary also.
FAVOURITE SMELLS?
Dunno. Probably food smells - fresh garlic, ginger and chilli frying in a pan...
FAVOURITE SOUNDS?
I could spend a million years on music, but I won't
WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU THINK OF WHEN YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING?
"What time is it?"
ROLLERCOASTER SCARY OR EXCITING?
Both. Dummy.
HOW MANY RINGS BEFORE YOU ANSWER THE PHONE?
Whatever.
FAVORITE FOODS?
Lots of things with garlic and/or fresh coriander in them. Noodle soups, curries, shish tawook (from Phoenician Fallafel). Chocolate Moevenpick ice cream.
Hey, I could meet one person dead or alive.
YOU COULD MEET ONE PERSON DEAD OR ALIVE?
Yeah, that's what I just said.
Whoops, I'm dicking about. Aaarghh, I don't know. Off the top of my head, I'd say Holger Czukay, who is a bass player among other things for a German band called Can. He thrills me.
FAVOURITE ALCOHOLIC DRINK?
Beer, I guess. Pretty partial to Mac's Gold, still.
WHAT IS YOUR BIRTHDAY?
When is? 23rd September.
DO YOU EAT THE STEMS OF BROCCOLI?
Yep.
IF YOU COULD HAVE ANY JOB YOU WANTED WHAT WOULD IT BE?
In a world where everything about the music industry was totally different, probably a music writer. As another crazy option, I'd be paid a fixed salary to write music. Not to release it, nor sell it, or anything like that. Just get paid some fixed amount that was totally unrelated to any kind of achievement.
If I limit myself to a real job, the idea of facilitating some kind of group process, or training others in group skills, is the really vague, but totally honest truth on what I would love to get paid for.
Thinking about it, basically what I'm saying is "be subsidised to do the things I already do, but don't get paid for".
IF YOU COULD DYE YOUR HAIR ANY COLOUR?
Blue. I don't think I'd like it, which is why I don't do it, but for about the past 10 years I've had a desire to dye my hair blue.
IS THE GLASS HALF EMPTY OR HALF FULL?
I reserve the right to change my mind on this one half a dozen times per drink. :-)
FAVOURITE MOVIES?
'La Haine' (also known as 'Hate'), 'Down by Law', and 'Zentropa' come to mind. I'm pretty much into any Jim Jarmusch film (he who did 'Down by Law', more recently eg. 'Dead Man' and 'Ghost Dog'). John Sayles' films 'Men with Guns', 'Passion Fish' and 'Lone Star' rock my world as well (probably in that order). Really enjoyed 'Wonderland' in the last film festival too, primarily because it had me totally nostalgic for London while depicting the city in a realistic, grubby way. If I'm being too obscure, www.imdb.com is a useful place to look these things up.
ARE YOU A LEFTY OR A RIGHTY?
Right handed. If I interpret the correction correctly. *shrug*
DO YOU TYPE WITH YOUR FINGERS ON THE RIGHT KEYS?
Pretty much. My right hand does more work than it should, but I can use one of those split ergonomic keyboards without feeling out of control...
WHAT'S UNDER YOUR BED?
The floor. We sleep on a futon.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE NUMBER?
I don't have one.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR?
I don't have one.
FAVOURITE SPORT TO WATCH?
Again, I don't have one. :-D
Thanks Michael!
